1. Who we are

GoLearnQuiz ("we", "us", "our") is a learning platform that provides flash cards, study guides, practice tests and tech tutorials. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you visit our website or create an account.

2. Information we collect

We only collect what we need to run the service:

• Account information. When you register, we store your email address and a one-way hash of your password. We never store your password in plain text and we cannot recover it.
• Learning activity. When you're signed in and you take a practice test, we save the attempt: quiz ID, your selected answers, the score, the time you started and how long you took. Anonymous visitors can also take quizzes — in that case, nothing is saved to your account.
• Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, URL requested, timestamp) used to keep the service reliable and secure.
• Cookies. Essential cookies for sign-in state and anti-forgery protection, plus advertising and analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

3. How we use your information

• Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• Save your quiz attempts so you can see progress and weak-spot review.
• Operate, monitor, and secure the service (including fraud and abuse prevention).
• Respond when you contact us for support.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your quiz results or account data to train third-party AI models.

4. Legal bases (EEA / UK visitors)

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the account and quizzes you asked for), legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and improve it), and consent where we explicitly ask for it.

5. How we share information

We share information only with the infrastructure and advertising providers we need to run and support the service:

• Hosting & database: the server and SQL Server database that run this site.
• Email: our transactional email provider, if we send you account-related messages.
• Google AdSense & advertising partners: we use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners (including DoubleClick) use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your browsing history across websites and to measure ad performance. Google may collect and use data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ad Settings or the Network Advertising Initiative.
• Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use GoLearnQuiz. Analytics cookies collect anonymized data such as pages visited and traffic sources.
• YouTube embeds: tutorial videos are served by YouTube. When a video loads, YouTube may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.
• Law & safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GoLearnQuiz, our users, or the public.

6. Data retention

Your account and attempts are retained while your account is active. Delete your account and we'll remove your personal profile and saved attempts within 30 days, except where we're required to retain limited records (e.g., security logs) for a longer period.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your quiz history in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

8. Security

We use HTTPS in transit, hashed passwords at rest, parameterized database access, anti-forgery tokens on forms, and standard ASP.NET Core Identity protections. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

9. Children's privacy

GoLearnQuiz is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Our servers and providers may be located in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards permitted by applicable law (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

11. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:

• Right to Know — request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected.
• Right to Delete — request deletion of personal information we hold, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Opt Out — opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Google AdSense may constitute "sharing" under CCPA; you can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
• Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the site before the change takes effect.
